Our Story
In late 2012, a passionate group of nose work enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest came together with a shared dream: to train their dogs to detect hidden scents. This dream blossomed into the Northwest K9 Sniffers Club, officially established in June 2013 with our first NACSW-style NW2/NW3 Mock trial at a local children’s camp. The overwhelming support from the nose work community marked the beginning of a vibrant journey.
Since then, the club has hosted numerous events, including 4-5 NACSW trials each year and workshops across the Seattle area. The growth of our membership from 12 to over 200 dedicated individuals reflects the love for nose work and the community spirit that drives us. In 2021, we proudly became an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, solidifying our commitment to giving back.
What truly sets the Northwest K9 Sniffers apart is our dedication to charitable causes. All profits from our events are donated to various charities, with a significant focus on providing veterinary care and rehabilitation for ‘Off the Track’ racehorses through The Prodigious Fund. In the fiscal year 2022-2023 alone, our donations exceeded $50,000, showcasing the positive impact we have on both dogs and humans alike.
