Founded by Dr. Polly Trout in 2002, Northwest Education Access began as Seattle Education Access, dedicated to supporting homeless and low-income youth in overcoming educational barriers. In 2020, the organization expanded its mission and reach, now serving Pierce and Snohomish Counties. With a dedicated network of Education Advocates, NW Education Access focuses on providing tailored support to students facing significant challenges.
According to an external evaluation by the Urban Institute, students working with our Education Advocates are three times more likely to enroll in post-secondary education. Notably, male students of color are seven times more likely to pursue higher education.
