Transforming Lives, One Dog at a Time

Northwest Dog Project (NWDP) is a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Eugene, Oregon. Established in August 2014, NWDP focuses on rescuing dogs facing euthanasia, providing them with a safe haven until they are healthy, well-evaluated, trained, and ready for their forever homes. Nestled on over 20 acres of serene forest land, the charming barn-boutique facility features a large, fenced-in outdoor training yard equipped with a pool and various enrichment tools. Here, staff and volunteers conduct daily training and socialization sessions, ensuring each dog receives the love and attention they deserve.

Each dog enjoys a minimum of a 40-minute daily hike and lives in one of six spacious, cabin-like kennels with individual fenced yards. Since opening its doors, NWDP has successfully rescued and re-homed over 500 dogs, including those with specialized medical needs that often go unnoticed in shelters. A dedicated fund supports these medical cases, allowing NWDP to give these deserving dogs a second chance at life.

Embracing diversity within the team, NWDP benefits from a variety of perspectives that enhance decision-making for the dogs. The organization is not breed-specific but has a special place for bully-type breeds, ensuring that all dogs, regardless of their background, receive the care they need.

Making a Difference

With over 500 dogs rescued and re-homed since 2014, Northwest Dog Project is committed to providing lifetime support to adopters and the dogs in its care. This dedication ensures that every dog finds a loving home and continues to thrive.
