Our Story

Northern Virginia Food Rescue was established on March 14, 2021, to enhance food resiliency and accessibility in Northern Virginia. Building on the success of the Prince William Food Rescue program, this organization utilizes technology and partnerships to combat food insecurity, especially during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Impact

Since its launch, Northern Virginia Food Rescue has successfully rescued over 1.2 million pounds of food and redirected an additional 13 million pounds. With over 3,000 direct food deliveries to families in need, the organization is dedicated to reducing food waste, hunger, and greenhouse gas emissions.
