About North Ward Center
Founded in 1970 by Stephen N. Adubato, the North Ward Center emerged from the ashes of the Newark Riots, aiming to heal and unite the community. Initially established in a storefront on Bloomfield Avenue, the Center later acquired the historic Clark Mansion, transforming it into a hub for community engagement and support. With the encouragement of Monsignor Geno Baroni, Adubato dedicated his efforts to fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among Newark's diverse populations.
