Our Story

Founded in 1923, the North Suffolk Garden Club has a rich history of enhancing the community through gardening and environmental initiatives. From providing vegetable seeds during the Great Depression to planting trees in local schools, NSGC has consistently worked to improve the quality of life in North Suffolk. As a proud member of The Garden Club of America, the organization is dedicated to fostering a love for gardening and environmental conservation through educational programs and community projects.

Our Impact

NSGC is actively involved in reseeding oyster beds in Stony Brook Harbor, which enhances water quality and provides vital habitats for marine life. The club also maintains the Emma B. Rockwell Herb Garden at the Long Island Museum and promotes the importance of indigenous plants and pollinators through various educational programs.
