Our Story

Founded in June 2006, North Star Roller Derby began as the North Star Roller Girls, evolving from the TC Rollers league. With a growing fan base, the league expanded from two to four home teams and moved to the Minneapolis Convention Center in 2007. The travel team, now known as the Supernovas, was established in 2007, and by 2008, the league proudly joined the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. In 2017, the league rebranded to North Star Roller Derby and became a nonprofit in 2018, unlocking new fundraising opportunities.
