Our Story
Archery has a rich history in Chicago, dating back to 1879 when the original North Side Archery Club was founded in Lincoln Park. This club played a pivotal role in the establishment of the National Archery Association, hosting the first-ever National Archery Championship at White Stockings Park. Over the years, the popularity of archery fluctuated, leading to a merger with the Chicago Archery Club in 1888. However, archery made a triumphant return to Lincoln Park in 1926, thanks to a dedicated group of archers who successfully petitioned for a designated range. The current range has since hosted numerous prestigious events, including the Ambassadors Cup in 1970, where a world record was set. Today, the reborn North Side Archery Club is committed to revitalizing the Lincoln Park range and fostering a vibrant archery community, with aspirations to host regional, national, and international tournaments once again.
