Our Story

North East Emergency Distribution Services (NEEDS) was founded in 1982 by Mary Sue Dickmann, emerging from a coalition of 25 local churches and civic organizations. This nonprofit organization addresses the unmet basic needs of children and families in the community, reflecting a commitment to faith-based support and compassion.

Impact

In 2023, NEEDS provided emergency financial assistance to 189 families, totaling $73,748, and distributed food to 2,024 families, positively impacting 6,987 individuals.
