Our Story

The North Dakota Association of the Blind was founded in 1936 by Melvin Eckberg and Bessie Brady to support individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Affiliated with the American Council of the Blind since 1961, NDAB has been a strong advocate for the blind community.

NDAB supports approximately 24,000 individuals in North Dakota affected by uncorrectable sight loss, providing essential advocacy, education, and community support.
