EIN: 45-3974276 · Ramona, CA
Our Story
The North County Special Needs Community Foundation was established in 2011 to address the growing need for educational programs for adults with special needs in Poway, California. It began with a Special Olympics softball team in 1998, which has expanded from 12 players to over 60 athletes. The Foundation collaborates with city officials to create housing solutions and educational opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities, including a 53-unit special needs apartment complex opened in June 2021 and a 60-unit affordable housing site approved for 2025.
Impact
Through its initiatives, the Foundation has successfully created social, educational, and housing opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering community connections and awareness.
