About North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble
The North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE) was founded in 1983 by Gene Medler to provide young dancers with opportunities to perform and expand their teaching and choreography skills. With approximately 40 dancers aged 8 to 18 from across North Carolina, NCYTE honors the traditions of tap dance while infusing it with contemporary music and innovative choreography.
