Founded in 1932, the North Carolina Symphony (NCS) is a vital and honored component of North Carolina’s cultural life. Each year, NCS reaches over 250,000 people through more than 300 concerts, education programs, and community engagement offerings across all 100 counties in North Carolina. From concert halls to outdoor settings, NCS brings the joy of music to diverse audiences.

Under the artistic leadership of Music Director Carlos Miguel Prieto, NCS performs at the stunning Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh and extends its reach to communities in Chapel Hill, Wilmington, New Bern, and Moore County. NCS leads one of the most extensive education programs of any symphony orchestra in the country, serving over 150,000 students each year. Through engaging programs aligned with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, NCS provides training for teachers, sends small ensembles into classrooms, and presents full-orchestra Education Concerts that bring music to life for students of all ages.
