Our Story

The North Alabama Amateur Hockey Association (NAHA) is a dedicated nonprofit organization that has been promoting the sport of hockey in Huntsville and its surrounding areas since 1962. Founded by Fred Hudson and a group of passionate volunteers, NAHA has grown from its humble beginnings to serve over 800 players, ranging from ages 4 to over 84. In 1973, NAHA became independent from the YMCA, and in 2012, it rebranded to better reflect its diverse membership and commitment to the community.

NAHA focuses on grassroots development, providing safe and enjoyable hockey experiences for everyone. By offering programs for all ages and skill levels, NAHA contributes to the growth of hockey in the South and creates opportunities for players to engage in USA Hockey programs.
