Our Story

Norte Maar for Collaborative Projects in the Arts, founded in 2004 by curator Jason Andrew and choreographer Julia K. Gleich, is dedicated to creating, promoting, and presenting collaborations among the visual, literary, and performing arts. Initially established in Rouses Point, NY, the organization has evolved to serve the vibrant Brooklyn community and beyond, focusing on innovative projects that blur the lines between artistic disciplines.

Our Impact

Through numerous collaborative projects, including the CounterPointe performance series, Norte Maar has successfully engaged the community by exclusively featuring collaborations between female dance makers and visual artists. The organization also offers free art programs for children, promoting artistic expression throughout the NYC metro area.
