No Kill Pima County (NKPC) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and cats in Pima County. Founded in 2012, NKPC advocates for the No Kill Model, which has proven effective in increasing live release rates in shelters across the nation. The organization believes that euthanasia should only be a last resort for animals suffering from incurable conditions.

Impact of Our Work

Over the past eight years, NKPC has played a crucial role in raising the live release rate at Pima County’s municipal shelter from 48% to an impressive 92%. This transformation has been achieved through the implementation of various components of the No Kill Model, including foster programs and community cat initiatives.
