NLArts began in 2003 when a group of dedicated parents recognized the need for an arts-based educational option in the Northern Liberties neighborhood. Their vision was to create a school that fostered creativity through collaboration between local artists and educators. After several attempts to establish a charter school, they redirected their efforts and resources to create a vibrant community arts program, officially launching NLArts in 2006.
Since its inception, NLArts has successfully run 17 summer camps and hundreds of workshops, enriching the lives of children in Northern Liberties, Fishtown, and Kensington. The organization has built a strong foundation of financial stability and community support, demonstrating its significant impact on local families and the arts community.
