Our Story
Established in 1982 as an extension of the Black Hills Audubon Society, the Nisqually Reach Nature Center became an independent nonprofit in 1986. With a proud history of engaging thousands in the South Sound, NRNC focuses on environmental stewardship and conservation. Each year, approximately 3,000 school-age children visit the Nature Center, participating in enriching classroom, laboratory, and field trip experiences. Community science initiatives, including monitoring of pigeon guillemots and water quality, further enhance our outreach.
