About Night Fall

Night Fall brings the people of Greater Hartford together every fall to showcase the city’s artists, parks, and creative spirit through a free and magical performance. Since its inception in 2012, Night Fall has aimed to reflect the cultural richness of Hartford’s communities through its Artistic Collaboration, cast, staff, board, audience, vendors, and performances.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

At Night Fall, diversity and inclusion mean cultivating a culture of welcoming and belonging for an intersectional spectrum of community representatives. This includes multiple identities such as race, gender expression, sexuality, age, abilities, social well-being, culture, and creative expression. The organization acknowledges the continuous journey of growth and leadership in these areas.

The Artistic Collaboration

In late 2020, Night Fall launched its Artistic Collaboration, a team of local choreographers, composers, makers, actors, comedians, and writers who create original scripts, music, dance, and design for Night Fall performances and other collaborative projects. This collaboration opens the door to new ideas, artistic expressions, and connections among Hartford’s artists.

Supporting Artists

Night Fall is dedicated to paying artists a living wage for their work in the Collaboration, performances, rehearsals, public appearances, workshops, and more. Honoring the life and work of artists is paramount, as is fostering their creative processes, leadership opportunities, and connections to one another.

Community Engagement

“Everyone is invited” is the motto at Night Fall! The organization strives to create meaningful relationships through local auditions, workshops, public appearances, and performances. Moving productions from park to park each year renews connections with Hartford’s amazing communities and celebrates the city’s rich cultural histories.
