Our Story

Founded in 1969, the Newington Volunteer Ambulance Corps began with a small group of dedicated individuals and a converted fire station. Over the years, it has evolved into the Newington Emergency Medical Services, officially renamed in 2015 to better reflect the vital work performed by its members. Today, a team of 56 volunteers operates 4 ambulances from our headquarters behind Market Square plaza on John H. Stewart Drive, ensuring the safety of the Newington community.

Our Impact

The mission is to deliver the highest quality emergency medical services to the residents of Newington while providing mutual aid to neighboring towns. Continuous training and education for both members and the community are prioritized to enhance preparedness and response capabilities.
