The organization has successfully preserved thousands of units of affordable housing and has been at the forefront of strengthening tenants’ rights at all levels of government. Through dedicated advocacy and community organizing, Tenants & Neighbors continues to fight for equitable rent practices and affordable living conditions.

Impacting Lives Through Advocacy

Tenants & Neighbors played a pivotal role in forming the Housing Justice for All coalition, which comprises over 70 organizations. This coalition was instrumental in achieving the historic rent laws reform in New York State with the passage of the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act in 2019.
