Our Story

Founded in 1996 with the support of The Peyton Anderson Foundation, NewTown Macon is a public-private partnership dedicated to revitalizing downtown Macon. Over the past two decades, this initiative has attracted over $350 million in community investment, transforming the area into a vibrant center of economic, cultural, and social activity.

Impact

NewTown Macon focuses on empowering women and Black community members by providing essential loans and training to foster entrepreneurship. Despite the rich diversity of Macon, only 18% of local businesses are Black-owned, highlighting the need for targeted support.
