Our Story

Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice was established in 1984 to serve the diverse needs of individuals and families across the Florida Gulf Coast. Founded under the leadership of the first Bishop, Most Reverend John J. Nevins, the organization has expanded its services significantly, particularly in response to community needs following disasters.

With over 195,000 pantry and food services provided, along with 14,000 education services, Catholic Charities has made a profound impact on the community, supporting victims of human trafficking and seniors.
