Our Story
Founded in 1972 by VISTA volunteers, NOVAC is dedicated to cultivating independent voices and visions in Louisiana. For over four decades, this organization has provided education, training, resources, and opportunities to storytellers in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
Impact
NOVAC has successfully trained and certified over 1,500 local individuals, many of whom are low to moderate income and were displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. These individuals have gained entry-level jobs in New Orleans’ thriving creative and film industries, excelling in areas such as Grip and Electric, Scenic Painting, and Production Assistance.
