Our Story
Founded in 1998 and opened in 2001, the New Mexico Holocaust Museum and Gellert Center for Education is dedicated to eliminating hate and intolerance through education. Inspired by Holocaust survivors Werner Gellert and Julianna Lerner, the museum serves as a vital space for learning about the Holocaust and other genocides.

Annually, the museum educates thousands of visitors, fostering empathy and encouraging individuals to stand against intolerance. Recently recognized as a USHMM Community of Holocaust Education Center, its outreach and community engagement have significantly expanded.
