Our Story

The New Hazlett Theater, originally built in 1889 as the first Carnegie Music Hall, has a storied history enriched by community support. After facing demolition in 1967, local advocates secured funds for its renovation, leading to its renaming in honor of civic leader Theodore L. Hazlett Jr. in 1980. In 2004, it transformed into the New Hazlett Theater, becoming a vital hub for diverse performance art disciplines.
