Our Story

Founded in the late 1980s, Common Ground connects urban residents with nature, promotes healthy food, and innovates education. Originally known as The New Haven Ecology Project, it has established Connecticut's longest-running community farm and opened Common Ground High School in 1997.

Impact

Common Ground High School has a graduation rate exceeding 90%, with over 90% of graduates accepted into college. Annually, the organization connects approximately 15,000 community members with nature and produces over 10,000 pounds of local food.
