Our Story
Founded in 1981 by Pastor Joel A. Brooks Jr., New Genesis, Incorporated began as an outreach ministry of Christian Life Center. Initially focused on adult and youth counseling and employment skills training, the organization evolved to better meet community needs. In 1999, a community needs assessment revealed significant concerns among parents regarding after-school care and homework assistance for their children. Responding to these needs, New Genesis restructured its services and launched the New Genesis Success Academy (NGSA), providing year-round literacy services to children, youth, and their families.
