Fostering Diversity in Media

Our Story

Founded in 1987, the New England High School Journalism Collaborative has been a beacon for aspiring journalists. Through hands-on workshops and programs, students engage directly with professional reporters, photographers, and editors from local newspapers. The initiative particularly focuses on reaching inner-city students and those from under-served communities, fostering a new generation of diverse voices in media. Co-founded by the late Carole Remick, the Collaborative emphasizes the critical need for representation across cultures in journalism.

Impact

The Collaborative has successfully introduced hundreds of high school students to journalism, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience and opportunities to work alongside professional media personnel.
