Transforming Lives Through Community Empowerment

New Breath Foundation (NBF) is a public foundation dedicated to uplifting Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) who have been adversely affected by the U.S. immigration and criminal legal systems. Founded by Eddy Zheng, a formerly incarcerated individual, NBF champions a transformative approach to philanthropy by funding grassroots organizations and advocating for systemic change.

Making a Lasting Impact

Since its inception in 2017, NBF has granted over $7.45 million to 53 local organizations across 15 states, 8 national, and 2 international organizations. The foundation focuses on keeping families together, building restorative justice movements, and providing hope and healing to communities impacted by incarceration and deportation.
