Our Story

The New Bethlehem Community Center was founded in 1911 by Miss Mary DeBardeleben, a Methodist deaconess, to uplift African Americans in Augusta, Georgia. Originally a social settlement, the Center has evolved to provide essential educational and social services, adapting to the community's changing needs over the years.
