New 42nd Street Inc, established in 1990, is a visionary nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing West 42nd Street in New York City. Originally tasked with breathing new life into the area, New 42 has transformed historic theaters into vibrant spaces for creativity and performance. The New Victory Theater, which opened in 1995, was the first theater in the city designed specifically for children and families, setting the stage for a cultural renaissance.

In 2000, New 42 expanded its mission with the opening of New 42 Studios, a state-of-the-art performing arts complex that serves as a rehearsal space for both commercial and nonprofit theater companies. This initiative has not only attracted professional artists but has also engaged thousands of young people through award-winning workforce development programs.

New 42 is committed to making the arts accessible and affordable for all, ensuring that children and families from across New York City can experience the transformative power of live theater.
