Transforming Lives Through Sports
Since its inception in 2014, Never Quit Dreaming (NQD) has embarked on a transformative journey to provide recreational activities for individuals facing challenges in mainstream competition. Starting with just three players in its inaugural season, NQD has grown into a beacon of hope and inclusion in Hawaii. The establishment of the Firebirds in 2018 marked a significant milestone, as NQD became the first and only baseball program in Hawaii dedicated to children and youth with special needs.
In collaboration with the ELS for Autism Foundation, NQD launched the #gameonautism golf program, the only one of its kind in Hawaii, offering accessible opportunities for those with unique needs. The introduction of Tsunami Basketball in 2019 further expanded inclusivity, providing a non-competitive basketball program designed for special needs children.
In 2020, NQD proudly introduced the Wax Academy, the world’s first DJ program for special needs youth, empowering participants to explore their creativity through music. In 2022, NQD achieved the prestigious status of being the first Certified Autism Center in Hawaii, underscoring its commitment to the autism community.
In a place often referred to as paradise, NQD strives to be a pioneer of change, making Hawaii a symbol of understanding, acceptance, and inclusion. More than just an organization, NQD is a family dedicated to empowering children to realize their dreams.
