Our Story
Founded in 1868, the Nereid Boat Club has a rich history of fostering rowing excellence in Newark, New Jersey. After overcoming challenges, including an arson fire in 1962, the club was revitalized in the early 1990s. With dedication, Erik King and fellow members restored the club's original incorporation papers and established a new site in Rutherford, New Jersey. The club reopened in 1994 and has since undergone significant renovations, including a major riverbank restoration project in 2012, enhancing both the environment and community facilities.
