Our Story

Founded in 1983, Neighbors In Need was established to combat food insecurity in Lawrence during a time of economic hardship. Starting with two food pantries, the organization has grown to ten distribution sites, addressing the needs identified by the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Impact

Each week, Neighbors In Need serves 1,600 families, distributing over 1 million pounds of food annually. The organization also provides essential items like diapers and infant formula, ensuring dignity and respect for those in need.
