Our Story
Founded in 1981 by passionate residents and leaders, Neighborhoods Inc of Battle Creek (NIBC) was established to create self-help programs for the community. Over the years, NIBC has evolved to meet the pressing need for affordable housing and stable neighborhoods, focusing on low-to-moderate-income families in the Greater Battle Creek Area.
Impact
In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, NIBC assisted over 3,100 low-income households, securing more than $14 million in direct rental financial assistance. As the Housing Assessment Resource Agency for Calhoun County, NIBC provides vital services to those at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.
