Neighborhood Schools, Inc. was founded in 2018, building on a legacy that began in 1994 with the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) at Macario Garcia Elementary School in Houston. With a commitment to educational excellence, NSI aims to create transformative educational options for children in underserved communities. Currently, NSI operates two campuses: Westchase Neighborhood Schools and Eastex-Jensen Neighborhood School, serving children from Pre-K through 8th grade.
During the pandemic, NSI responded to the needs of students by providing essential home kits filled with school supplies, books, and engaging activities. Additionally, computers were loaned to families to facilitate virtual learning, ensuring that education continued despite the challenges.
