Our Story

The Neighborhood Music School, founded in 1914 by musician-composer Carrie Stone Freeman, began as the Los Angeles Music School Settlement. With a mission to provide low-cost music lessons, it has evolved to serve the Boyle Heights community since 1933, enriching lives through music education.

Impact

Currently, the school serves almost 350 students each month, fostering confidence and community engagement through music.
