Our Story

Neighborhood Alliance has been compassionately caring for the community since 1927. Founded by Mary Haskell in a small house in Lorain, Ohio, the organization began as an Americanization Center to assist immigrants. Over the decades, it has evolved to provide essential services such as emergency shelter, daily meal delivery, childcare, and family support programs.

Serving a population where 97% live in poverty, Neighborhood Alliance impacts thousands of lives each year. By delivering services within walking distance of those in greatest need, the organization ensures that help is accessible to the most vulnerable members of the community.
