Our Story

Founded in 1975 by a group of compassionate individuals, Neighbor to Neighbor began its journey by collecting gently used clothing and redistributing it to those in need within the Greenwich area. With the support of Christ Church, the organization quickly expanded its mission to include linens, towels, and household items. In response to the rising cost of living, Neighbor to Neighbor initiated a weekly food program in 1984, ensuring families received three meals a day for three days. The opening of the "client choice" Food Pantry in 2005 marked a significant milestone, allowing clients to select their own nutritious food, a model that has inspired neighboring towns.

Neighbor to Neighbor strengthens the Greenwich community by providing access to nutritious food, clothing, and other essentials in an atmosphere of kindness and respect.
