Founded in 1983, the Naugatuck Valley Project (NVP) is a coalition of 23 congregations, labor unions, housing cooperatives, and ethnic organizations. This network collaborates to build power and drive systemic change, enhancing the quality of life for local communities in the Naugatuck Valley.
NVP has secured national 'pilot' status for the Valley, unlocking over $800,000 in funding for the redevelopment of toxic industrial sites. Through leadership training, hundreds of adult and youth leaders have been empowered, while successful campaigns have led to the establishment of affordable housing and vital resources for new immigrants.
