Our Story

In 1971, a high school teacher named Don Rees gathered 50 students in Yosemite for a transformative week-long adventure. This experience sparked the founding of NatureBridge, formerly known as Yosemite Institute, and has led to over five decades of immersive environmental education in our national parks. Today, NatureBridge connects more than 30,000 students and 700 schools annually to the wonders of the natural world, fostering self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of our planet.
