About Naturaland Trust

Founded in 1973 by Greenville attorney C. Thomas ‘Tommy’ Wyche, Naturaland Trust is one of the Southeast’s oldest conservation land trusts. With a mission to protect significant tracts of land in South and North Carolina, the Trust has preserved tens of thousands of acres of foothills and mountain land, primarily along the South Carolina–North Carolina border.

Impact of Naturaland Trust

Naturaland Trust has successfully protected vital areas, including the 40,000-acre Mountain Bridge Wilderness and the 34,000-acre Jocassee Gorges. The organization has constructed over 50 miles of hiking trails and enhanced significant river and riparian resources in Upstate South Carolina.
