About the Native Prairies Association of Texas

Founded in 1985 by conservation-minded individuals, the Native Prairies Association of Texas (NPAT) is committed to the protection and restoration of Texas prairies, savannas, and grasslands. With a focus on conserving these vital ecosystems, NPAT has successfully preserved over 4,000 acres of native Texas prairie, including endangered tallgrass prairie.

Impact of NPAT

NPAT actively restores native prairie on its own lands and promotes restoration on private and public lands throughout Texas. Through educational programs, NPAT raises awareness about the ecological significance of prairies, contributing to climate stabilization and water quality conservation.
