Our Story

Founded in October 2009, the National Workforce Registry Alliance (NWRA) emerged from a collaboration of state professional development registries. The organization was created to support states in developing advanced registries that enhance the education and professional development of the early care and education workforce. Evolving from the National Registry Alliance in 2014, NWRA now encompasses 44 state registries, providing critical information that informs policy decisions at various levels.

Impact

With nearly one million members served through registries, NWRA has made significant strides in the professional development of the early childhood workforce. The organization facilitates the collection of workforce data, which informs policy decisions and promotes equitable access to quality care and education, ultimately improving outcomes for children.
