Our Story

The National Women's Tennis Organization (NWTO) was founded in 1974 by tennis legends Nancy Reed, Betty Pratt, and Charlene Grafton. Originally established as the Senior Women's Tennis Association, the organization has evolved to represent women aged 30 to 90+. In 2020, the name was changed to NWTO to better reflect its diverse membership. The organization is dedicated to raising the standards of age-level match play, fitness, and sportsmanship in tennis.

Our Impact

With a community of over 1200 competitive women and men, NWTO advocates for age-level tennis and provides essential support through tournaments and grants. The organization proudly sponsors the USTA National Women’s Intersectional Team Championships, the largest women’s tournament of the year, enhancing the experience for its members.
