Founded in 1971 by trailblazers like Bella Abzug and Shirley Chisholm, the National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) is dedicated to increasing women's participation in the political process. With 12 state chapters and numerous local affiliates, NWPC advocates for women's rights and equality in political representation.

Since its inception, NWPC has played a pivotal role in increasing the number of women in political office, with women in the U.S. Congress rising from 15 in 1971 to 151 in 2023. This remarkable growth reflects the organization's commitment to empowering women and advocating for their rights.
