The National Wheaten Rescue, Inc. was established to rescue, evaluate, rehabilitate, and place purebred Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers that have been relinquished, abandoned, or found. Formed in 2021, this organization builds on a legacy of rescue efforts dating back to 1979, collaborating with the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America and regional clubs to support these dogs in need.
Since its inception, the National Wheaten Rescue has successfully rescued and placed over 1,767 purebred Wheaten Terriers, raising over $222,000 for their care. Essential services such as foster care, transport, and behavioral counseling are provided to ensure the well-being of these dogs.
