Our Story

The National Veterans Art Museum (NVAM) was founded on October 12, 1986, by veteran artists and volunteers from the Vietnam Veterans Art Group. Since its inception, NVAM has showcased the powerful narratives of veterans through art, with a collection that has grown to over 2,000 works from various conflicts. The museum serves as a vital platform for dialogue about the impact of war, inspiring connections between veterans and the public.

Impact

NVAM connects veterans' experiences with the broader community, fostering understanding and dialogue about military service. The museum has exhibited works in 15 states and 54 individual shows, reaching visitors from 31 countries and 46 states, amplifying veteran voices and experiences.
