Our Story

In 1999, the first New York City Tartan Day Parade was held, led by Grand Marshal Cliff Robertson. This event united Scottish Americans and enthusiasts, celebrating the rich heritage and culture of Scotland. Since then, the National Tartan Day New York Committee has organized this vibrant parade, which takes place annually on April 6, marking National Tartan Day as recognized by the U.S. Senate.

Impact

The NYC Tartan Day Parade and Tartan Week foster connections among Scottish and Scottish-American artists, organizations, and communities, promoting a deeper appreciation for Scottish heritage in America.
